l First step: Warming up
This quiz is intended to find out how much general knowledge your students already have about Canada.

l Second step: Pre-reading
The pre-reading questions encourage students to reflect on their personal experiences and information and their own ideas.
1.What is the longest trip you have ever taken?
2. Would you like to take a trip to Canada? What do you expect to see there?
l Third step: Reading
a. Show a picture and ask: What is “The True North”?
----“The True North” is the train that goes across Canada/the cross-Canada train.
b. Fast reading: Ask students to read through the text fast and find the places mentioned in the text on the map and draw the route of the two girls travelling across Canada.

Read fast and divide the text into two parts.

Step 4 :Fill in the blanks.
Toronto is the most wealthy and biggest city in Canada. There is the tall CN Tower and the famous Niagara Falls, which is beautiful with misty cloud that rises from it. There is also covered
stadium and three Chinatowns where you can get good Cantonese food.
Montreal has a French culture. People speak both French and English. There were signs and ads in French. It’s nice to sit in a café, looking over the broad Stlawrence River.
