Step 1 Greeting

Make a greeting to the whole class.

Step 3 Lead-in

1.       Introduce a girl student called Chen Hui to the whole class through a video, and answer two questions.

(1). Where is she from? (2). What is she talking about?

(Answers: (1) Haikou (2) Her new Senior High school )

2.        Show the picture of Li Kang, a Senior High school student, ask students two questions, and then ask the students to read the first paragraph to find out the answers on their textbook.

(Answers: (1) Shijiazhuang   (2) His first day at Senior High school)

3.       Introduce the learning objectives.

(1) We’ll learn some words about school life.

(2) We’ll learn how to introduce one’s first day at Senior High school.

(3) We’ll practise some reading skills.

1. Fast reading:

Match the main idea with each paragraph.

Paragraph 5          E. The students of his class and their homework for the first day.

Paragraph 6          F. More information about Ms Shen, his English teacher.
