四、阅读理解。(A、B篇每小题1分,C篇每小题2分,本题共20小题)

( A )

We are always using body language in our daily communication. When we talk with each other, we may use body language. For example, in the USA, people point to their heads when they think someone is clever. However, human beings (人类) are not the only ones who use body language. Animals also use body language and facial expressions (面部表情) to tell each other how they feel and what they think.

When a dog is happy, its ears will stand up and its ears will wide open. When it is angry, it will  look straight at you. If an elephant spreads its ears, it means “ Watch out!”  To show friendship, elephants will touch each other with their trunks(鼻子). Dolphins(海豚) live in groups and like to show each other their feelings. An angry dolphin will sometimes slap(拍) its tail(尾巴) on the water. A happy dolphin will play with its friends, making small jumps into the air. Not only humans but also animals can use body language to communicate, but the things they “say” to each other are different.

Last weekend we found a really beautiful shell(壳) while my friend and I were playing volleyball at the beach. He picked it up and said it was his. In fact, I saw it first. I was so angry that I thought about hitting him. However, “ Violence (武力) is the worst!” came to my mind. Our parents and teachers often tell us not to fight. I didn’t fight but talked with him instead. If two adults use violence towards each other in order to win, it’s quite wrong. If one injured the other, he would be caught. If one killed the other, he would be put into prison(监狱) for years, even for the rest of his life.

Now when two countries have different thoughts, they often use violence and fight a war between the countries. It’s rather bad! Thousands of people have been killed and injured at war. And it brings much trouble to the world.A war is rather violence. Adults will say they are fighting wars to solve problems and make peace. But can wars really “ make peace”? I suppose not. Guns(枪) can’t create love and care. Why can't adults use their brains(脑)? They might say things are not so easy. However, why are they doing so? Adults are our models! Can wars make peace?
