材料话题简介：1. 文中A部分提到了迪士尼公园和越来越多的人购买电动汽车，应该说都是当下中国的热点问题;2.B部分有讲到如何饲养宠物、派对邀约、出国旅游、噩梦、选房子和英语学习的方法，都是广大中学生非常熟知的题材或社会热点话题;3.C部分的买手机体现了当今社会电子设备的普及;4.D部分请求帮忙解决好友的问题(贪吃垃圾食品和过度沉迷于电子设备)更是很多中学生可能都碰到过的问题，具有很好的时代性，不与现实脱节，引发学生的反思。

语言难度：1. 文章主要是美式发音，符合大部分同学平时的听力输入。但是可能会有个别词汇的发音有些同学难以辨认(应该不太影响做题)，如第10题里有句话: ‘ What about visiting aunt with Judy and me?”。该句中aunt的美式发音是/ænt/，而英式发音为/ɑːnt/，可能会给某些同学造成小的干扰。
