Abstract:Today, a move towards an increasing number of authors in the publication byline is widely acknowledged, leading to significant discussions between collaboration and academic impact assessment. These studies include two main aspects, one is to adjust scientists’ citation impact with co-authorship, the other is to measure authors’ impact in co-authorship network and examine the correlation between collaboration measurement and citation measurement indicators. The results showed that social network analysis and citation network analysis are complementary approaches to the study of scientific impact. Next, we investigated the theoretical basis for a double measurement of academic impact from the perspective of scientific communication.
