Apple chief apologizes for maps app errors
Tim Cook, Apple’s chief executive, has apologized to iPhoneusers for failings in its new Maps application after more than aweek of complaints about the service's accuracy.
苹果(Apple)首席执行官蒂姆 库克(Tim Cook)就该公司新推出的“地图”(Maps)应用的缺陷向iPhone用户致歉，此前该项应用的准确性一周多来屡遭投诉。
In a rare moment of contrition from the world’s most valuable company, Mr Cook said Apple was “extremely sorry for the frustration” caused by misplaced landmarks and incorrectly namedlocations in Maps, which replaced Google Maps in the latest version of the iPhone and iPad'soperating system.
全球市值最高公司罕见地流露悔意。库克称，苹果对于“地图”中地标位置错误和地名标注错误“带来的失望深表遗憾”。该“地图”应用在最新版的iPhone和iPad操作系统中取代了谷歌地图(GoogleMaps)。
Mr Cook even suggested that customers should continue to use Google Maps through a web app, as well as pointing users towards other alternatives by smartphone rivals including Nokia andMicrosoft while Apple works to fix the problem.

“At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to ourcustomers,” Mr Cook wrote in an open letter published on Apple's website.
