ChopinremainedinexileinFranceaftertheuprisingwascrushed.ButsoattachedwashetohisnativelandthatafterhisdeathinParisin1849hisheart-onhisowninstructions-wasbroughtbacktoWarsawforinterment.TherestofhisbodyisburiedinthePèreLachaisecemeteryinParis.
