1.表示汉语的“单位”，主要有两种可能，一是指构成整体的“单位”或“单元”;二是指计数或计量的“单位”。如：

A gram is a unit of weight. 克是重量单位。
The meter reads 5,500 units. 仪表标明为5,500单位。
所以，我们平常说的“工作单位”，通常不宜用unit表示，可根据情况灵活表达。如 ：

若所说的单位指的是工作地点，则可考虑用workplace。如：

2. unit 的意义比较多，除以上提到的用法外，它还可表示：
(1)(机构中的)科，室，部门。如：
She has been transferred to another unit. 她调到另外一个部门去了。
(2)(团队或部队中的)小队，分队。如：
It’s a unit of highly-trained soldiers. 那是经过高度训练的士兵小分队。
(3)(一幢楼中的)一套房子，一单元。如：
The building contains 50 housing units. 这座大楼有50套住房。
