Hannah Szenes was born on 17th July, 1921 and was trained to parachute (用降落伞空投)by the British army into Yugoslavia during World War II.This task was given in order to save Jews of Hungry. Her secret mission was not revealed even when she was tortured (折磨)following her arrest at the Hungarian border.Hannah Szenes had to brave immense tortures, yet she did not lose heart. She bravely battled it out and tried to sing to keep her spirits high! She also kept a record of events in her diary till 7th November, 1944, when she was finally killed.

Increase Your Speed Now
Once you are confident that you can scull with either foot, the next thing that you have to do is increase your speed.Try some of your own tricks now.Scull with either foot or with both at the same time.
Scull and Be Aware
While you keep one foot straight, keep sculling with the other. You can do that with both feet at the same time.Concentrate on what you are doing but don’t get so involved that you don’t see where you are going. If you are not watching your back, you might just bang against something or someone.

BEIJING—After a night of winning and dining with 50 of China’s richest people, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates told the journalists on Thursday that the biggest difference between eating with Chinese tycoons (企业界大亨) and Western ones was the food.
Thus ended the two billionaires’ mission to promote charity in China, a journey that provoked (引起) weeks of breathless speculation (猜测) here about whether this nation’s superrich class was too miserly to measure up to Western charitable standards. At the new conference, Mr.Buffett and Mr.Gates said the answer was “no”.
“I was amazed last night, really, at how similar the question and discussions and all that were to those in the dinners we had in the U.S.,” said Mr.Buffett.
Mr.Buffett and Mr.Gates, two of the best known Westerners here announced in September, 2010 that they planned to invite 50 wealthy Chinese tycoons to dinner in Beijing to encourage philanthropy (慈善事业) among China’s new rich. The mission became the subject to feverish news coverage—and something of a test of Chinese generosity—after it was reported that some tycoons were turning down the invitation because they feared they would be pressed to donate money.
On Thursday, the two men pronounced the dinner a great success, saying that two-thirds of those invited had shown up, and that more than half of them had offered their own ideas on how Chinese philanthropy should work.
The guest list wasn’t made public, but the Chinese news media reported that it included Jet Li, the movie star; Niu Gensheng, the founder of a Chinese dairy business; and Pan Shiyi and Zhang Xin, who control the SOHO China real estate (房产) empire.
As with four earlier dinners held in the United States, Mr.Buffett and Mr.Gates said, no one at the Beijing event was asked to donate money or to promise to engage in Charity.“Bill and I won’t be calling anybody. What happens in China will depend on what the Chinese people feel about a project of this sort,” said Mr.Buffett.
China is widely reported to be second only to the United States in the number of dollar billionaires.Mr.Gates and Mr.Buffett said the nation was unique because its wealthy class had arisen almost wholly in the past 30 years, so the philanthropic practices established among European and American dynasties are new here, and open to change.
The two said the dinner wasn’t a long planned matter, but an offshoot of a trip that Mr.Buffett had already scheduled to Guangdong and Hunan Provinces, where BYD Company, a maker of clean-energy automobiles, has factories.Mr.Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, holds a 10% stake in the company.
But Mr.Gates suggested that their philanthropy trip wasn’t yet over.“We may do an event in India,” he said.

Working as a manager in the head office of a bank, as I do, clothes can be a nightmare (噩梦).In New York, where I worked for a time last summer, you have to brave the burning heat every time you dare to go outside, yet freeze once you arrive in a meeting room with the air-condition turned up.I struggled to know what to wear. The problem was worsen by the office dress code for the months of July and August, which was “dress-down”.
The dress-down phenomenon seems to have begun in places where staff work through the terrible heat of summer while their families take shelter at the coast or in the hills.Dress-down, only limited to Fridays, allows staff to head straight for their out-of-town destinations on Friday evenings without going home to change. But in New York it has now become a week-round state of affairs. This move may have been born out of consideration; to allow people on Wall Street to travel to work in the heat in something more comfortable than a suit, but the effect is less kind.
For me, dress-down is bad for two reasons. The first is that it actually requires a whole new wardrobe. For my male colleagues in the US, it seemed to mean a switch from one uniform to another.I basically only own two types of clothes; suits for working in and truly casual clothes for relaxing weekends in the countryside.
Returning to London, I was therefore rather embarrassed to discover that my employers had started summer dress-down.Here too, though its relevance to the climate is far from immediately apparent. At first, I tried to sidestep(回避) it by simply turning up in my suit as usual, but my staff complained that they then felt pressured into doing the same. So, I found myself having to buy “smart casual” clothes specifically to wear to work; a ridiculous expense.
Even more annoying is the fact that I’m still required to have a suit hanging up in my office in case I’m suddenly called to a meeting on our conference floor, where dress-down is banned for fear that a client should witness it.One of my colleagues started to accumulate more and more very smart suits in her office, explaining that she was having her flat renovated (装修) and that the in-office wardrobe was a necessity as she was staying at a different friend’s place each night. We weren’t convinced.
For the other great inconvenience of dress-down for the staff is that it makes it easier than ever to spot when colleagues are going to job interviews. For the rest of the year, it is easy enough to arrange these during the working week, but in the summer when dress-down rules, it’s a dead giveaway to arrive in overly smart clothes and then go out for a “dental appointment”.I would normally applaud this state of affairs, as an important part of my time is spent trying to prevent valued employees from moving elsewhere, and any clues about their intentions are helpful and allow me to nip these in the bud (消灭于萌芽中).
However, the clothes hanging in my office are now finding a second use.I have suddenly become the target for several “headhunters”, people employed by other companies to try and attract employees away with offers of better pay and conditions. The only problem with this is that I have just the one suit at the office. As a series of interviews with one future employer progresses, I am having to bring in additional clothes.I can hardly present myself as a highly-paid investment banker, requiring a vast salary, if they only ever see me in one suit.At this rate, I shall have to tell my staff that I, too, have decided to have my flat done up.
55.According to the writer, “dress-down” in New York began as a way of __________________.
A.making life easier for staff in the summer months
B.discouraging staff from taking summer holidays
C.showing concern for staff who lived out of town

A.She argued against it. B.She attempted to ignore it.

57.Why does “dress-down” annoy the writer?
A.Not everyone obey the rule. B.Her client find it embarrassing.
C.It does not apply on all occasions. D.The clothes themselves do not suit her.
58.In which aspect of her work does the writer find “dress-down” an advantage?
A.Training new members of staff. B.Providing her staff with some information.
C.Making sure that her staff remain faithful D.Making her staff feel more comfortable at work.
59.The underlined word “giveaway” in the six paragraph means _______________ .
A.something that is given away free.
B.willingness to stop doing something.
