Ma Liang’s Problem
From the picture we can see Ma Liang is surrounded by a pack of forest animals such as tigers, rabbits, lions and so on. They urge him to paint many more trees with his magic brush. Ma Liang gives no direct reply but says “How can I paint more to catch up with the speed at which trees are cut down?”
How does this situation come about? People don’t plant some trees in return after cutting down ones for their own benefit, which consequently endangers forest creatures and has made some animals homeless and some species even die out.
I think the earth is home to us human beings and animals are our friends. Only by living in harmony with nature and animals can we live better and longer, for to protect nature and the earth is to protect ourselves.

Text10
M: Mohandas Gandhi was the man who devoted himself to making India an independent country. He was born in 1869 at Porbandar, India. (17)He studied law in London and worked in Bombay for a few years. He then spent 21years in South Afica, where he supported and fought for India people' rights. When he returned to India, he became the leader of the Indian National Congress, the political party which was fighting for India's independence. Eventually, (18)Gandhi's dream came true and India became independent in1947.
It was because of his personality and life choices that Gandhi managed to change the future of India. He was an unselfish, generous man who was never after money or power and whose only dream in life was to help those in need. He thought of all people as equal and he wanted freedom and independence for everyone. Although he was a politician, (19)he never followed ordinary politicians' methods in his fight for equal rights. He believed that all problems could have peaceful solutions. To millions of Indian people he is a national hero. (20)Because of his strong beliefs, he’s still an inspiration to us all.
