StepⅠGreeting

Greet the class as usual.

Check the homework.

StepⅡ 2a 2b

1 Play a recording for three conversations. Listen and circle the words you hear in these conversations.

2 Play the recording at least twice. Check the answers.

3 Play the same recording again. Some animals in the chart are in the wrong places. You’re to listen and draw lines from the animals to their correct places.

StepⅢ 2c

Play the recording again. Students listen and complete the chart. If many students aren’t able to finish the activity, play the tape once more.

StepⅣ 2d

1 Play the recording for conversation 3 again. You’re to listen and write down what Li Fang, Kelly and Nick want to be when they’re older and why, point out the sample answer.

2 Check the answers.

1 Work in pairs. Take turns to ask and answer questions. Check that you have the same answers in your charts in activity 2b.

2 While doing the activity, don’t look at your partner’s chart.

In this class we’ve mainly done much listening practice. All the activities provide practice with recognizing the pronunciation of words and listening for specific information.

Write a passage about what Paul did from Friday to Sunday and where he did these activities.

Write a passage about what Li Fang, Kelly and Nick want to be when they’re older and why.
